Christmas – Peppermint Snowflake Cocktail & Chocolate Frosted Flake Candies

Peppermint Snowflake Cocktail

Equipment

  • 1 cocktail shaker

Ingredients
  

  • 1 ounce vodka
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 ounce peppermint schnapps
  • 1 ounce creme de cacao
  • 2 ounces heavy cream
  • 2 Andes chocolate mints

Instructions
 

  • Place martini glass in freezer to chill while making cocktail. Place vodka, peppermint schnapps, creme de cacao and heavy cream in a cocktail shaker with ice. Cover shaker and shake vigorously. Strain into a chilled martini glass.
  • Use a vegetable peeler or sharp knife to shave Andes chocolate mints over the top of cocktail.

Chocolate Frosted Flake Candies

Course Dessert
Servings 20 candies

Equipment

  • 20 mini cupcake liners
  • 1 double boiler

Ingredients
  

  • 11.5 ounce bag Ghiradelli milk chocolate chips
  • 1 cup Frosted Flake cereal small single serving containers are available in the cereal aisle in the grocery store.
  • 1/2 cup sliced almonds
  • flaked sea salt

Instructions
 

  • Lightly toast almonds in oven. Remove from oven and allow to cool.
  • Place 20 mini cupcake liners on a large plate or baking sheet.
  • Melt milk chocolate chips in double boiler.
  • Add Frosted Corn Flakes to melted chocolate. Stir and add sliced almonds.
  • Stir to cover cereal and almonds with chocolate.
  • Using two spoons, scoop approximately 1 tablespoon chocolate mixture into each mini cupcake liner.
  • Sprinkle candies lightly with flaked sea salt. Cover and place in refrigerator to harden.
  • Remove from refrigerator and bring to room temperature before serving.
