With Love Meghan Focaccia Bread

Another fun use for my Le Creuset Brasier Pan…Focaccia Bread!

Meghan Markle’s Focaccia Bread

Course Bread and Biscuits

Equipment

  • 1 cast iron Brasier Pan I use a Le Cresuet Brasier Pan

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups bread flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil, plus more for coating pan and drizzling I use Olivelle sweet butter infused olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon instant yeast
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 3 sprigs fresh rosemary
  • 2 teaspoons flaky sea salt

Instructions
 

  • Place the yeast in the warm water, stir.
  • In a large mixing bowl, mix together the water mixed with yeast, flour and olive oil.
  • Add the salt and mix until the dough comes together in a ball.
  • Coat the top of the dough with a thin layer of olive oil and cover with a tea towel.
  • Place the dough in a warm place and let rise for 2 hours.
  • Preheat the oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Once the dough has risen, place it into a well-oiled cast iron brasier pan or a baking pan with high sides.
  • Cover with a damp towel or plastic wrap and put in a warm place to let rise in the pan for another 30 minutes.
  • Once the dough is ready, coat your fingers with olive oil and gently dimple the top of the dough to create small wells with your fingers.
  • Drizzle the dough generously with more olive oil, rosemary and sprinkle with flaky sea salt.
  • Place in the oven and bake for 20 – 25 minutes or until lightly golden brown.
