Hot Dried Beef Pecan Spread

This recipe is an oldie, but a goodie. My mom used to make this back in the 1960’s. Always a popular spread for your appetizer table.

Hot Dried Beef Pecan Spread

Cook Time 30 minutes
Total Time 45 minutes

Servings 8 servings

Ingredients
  

  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 8 ounces cream cheese
  • 1 2 1/2 ounce jar dried beef, shredded
  • 2 tablespoons onion flakes
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/4 cup red bell pepper, finely chopped
  • 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • Triscuit crackers or other sturdy crackers for serving

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Blend cream cheese with milk.
  • Add dried beef, onion flakes, black pepper, garlic powder and red bell pepper.
  • Fold in sour cream.
  • Spread in shallow oven-proof dish.
  • Heat pecans in butter and sprinkle over cheese mixture.
  • Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 30 minutes.
  • Serve with Triscuits crackers or other sturdy crackers.
