Equipment

  • 1 cocktail shaker

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1.5 ounces cherry juice
  • 1/4 cup Perrier sparkling water
  • 3/4 ounce vodka
  • 1 teaspoon Maraschino cherry liqueur
  • 2 "Filthy" black cherries for cocktail garnish or Amarena cherries for mocktail garnish
  • 1 large ice cube with lime slice frozen in the cube for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • Make lemonade concentrate: Place sugar and water in a small saucepan and bring to a simmer over medium low heat. Stir so the sugar dissolves completely and remove from heat. Add the lemon juice to the sugar mixture and stir to combine. Place in a mason jar or covered container and refrigerate until ready to serve.
  • Chill an old fashioned glass in the freezer for about 30 minutes.
  • To make a mocktail: Place 3 ounces lemonade concentrate and cherry juice in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake vigorously and strain into a chilled glass. Add Perrier sparkling water and stir lightly to combine all ingredients. Add ice cube and garnish with amarena cherries.
  • To make a cocktail: Add 3/4 ounce vodka and 1 teaspoon Maraschino Cherry Liqueur to the shaker along with all of the ingredients for the mocktail. Garnish with ice cube and "Filthy" black cherries.
